- Register on SAM.gov (free). The government can't award you a contract until your business has an active SAM.gov registration. List NAICS 238110 (Poured Concrete Foundation and Structure Contractors) so contracting officers searching for concrete work can find you.
- Look for set-asides. Small-business set-asides are reserved for smaller firms, so you compete with companies your size.
- Sub to the prime. Award notices name the company that won. Call early, introduce your trade and ask who handles subcontracting.
